Ehhh, Pitta? That was what I remember from Georges corner! Great family and a great place to read a book with a coke and a souvlaki whilst your Triumoh Tr7 sits there! Ah yes, 1994 was a good year, mostly. If anyone was there in 1994 and remembers Neil & John, please get in touch via www.g0ofb.co.uk (cut and paste it to avoid URL errors!) Yia sou JJ

From: Christine BrettDate 8th Jan. 2007Have been to Paxos several times and the food has been excellent everywhere we have eaten. Our favourite is Il Mederterrano in Gaios. It is the last taverna on the harbour front - walking towards the new port - after the Coast Guard office. Everything we had was lovely especially the aubergine and cheese starter but the best dish if it is on is a local speciality called 'male cockerel' .Other favourites are in Lakka - the Nautilus for fish and the Alexandros for their entire menu!Have had some great meals at the Vassilis in Loggos but in 2006 felt the service was not as good as it used to be and that it had lost some of it's charm by trying to be more like a 'restaurant' than a taverna.
This is the place to go for the best cheesecake ever - Aleka makes the most wonderful light and tasty cheesecake - a day isnt complete without a slice. We are looking forward to returning in June to enjoy once again.

Love Greece, love Paxos, love Lakka, love Nautilus taverna! If you like seafood like us, then you must try this taverna, by the side of the bay where the little fishing boats tie up alongside. Fresh fish simply cooked on the BBQ or their seafood risotto, both delicious.Wonderful, will be back soon!

This has got to be THE most romantic place on Paxos for a fabulous traditional Greek meal - right on the beach with the sea glinting in the moonlight just below your table, gorgeous food and the best hosts in Ben and his Mum, Eftihia. We'll be back again later this year!

Top food in Paxos is to be found at Nionios in Lakka. Opened in 1945, it is now in the hands of the third and fourth generations. Fresh local produce only. A wideand skilfully prepared variety of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes are all cooked with a wonderful mixture of fresh herbs and served with great friendliness and enthusiasm. You will need to book if you want to be sure of a table. We shall be returning.

We had a geat quality meal,a real taste of Greece complete with warm and friendly welcome. The kitchen run to see and choose your meal is a fun experience. If you want to finish off with somethingbit different, stagger over to the bar over the road on the kitchen side (cant remember the name) and try their cocktail Frankie the Monk!

Fantastic spit roasted meat especially the pork. Great grilled sardines, beautifully fresh tzatziki.

Generally good all round. Special mention for the gofus fish and the courgette balls. Speedy service and a lovely position on the harbour side (particularly if you have small children with fishing nets, easy to keep an eye on them)

Where do I start? We spent three glorious weeks in Paxos this year getting married and had a party of 40 to entertain for a week. In my experience all Paxos tavernas and bars are a delight, but my particular favourites are: - Taverna Dodos for a quiet relaxed home made meal in a pretty garden in Gaios - Taverna Genesis for a traditional Greek Night and great cocktails in Gaios overlooking the harbour - Vassilis Taverna for amazing spit roast meats just off the main square - Georges Corner for the good old fashioned pitta and watch the world go by - Lilas Taverna in Magazina, my personal all time favourite with Thomas, Stefanos and their good wives cooking up a storm every day for the locals. Book a taxi to the Sunset bar for a gin& tonic and then retire to Lilas for Greece as it used to be.... Enjoy Julia Hart x

EVERY WERE I LOVE IT THERE

Nothing beats Rosa de Paxos for the best fish, mussels and prawns. Michelas is the amazing owner of the place and its my favourite restaurant in the world

Dodos Taverna is by far the most charming place to eat on Paxos. Its Einstein-look-alike host is delightful and his colourful garden is filled with herbs and conversational delights (like pineapples in tree). The taverna is enhanced by being away from the shallow harbour front eateries that tend to lack character. Cherilyn Ireton

We have been to Paxos seven times staying at Glyfada we love to eat at Gios run by Angelina the food is brilliant Greek food the liver in balsamic vinegar & honey is one of our favourites along with the seafood spaghetti, we also love the Olive Tree and are really pleased it has moved to Loggos save's a taxi fare to Giaos. The food at Glyfada is really good as well and we are so lucky to be going back again this Summer The best cheesecake is too be found at the Four Seasons in Loggos as are some great ice creams.

We have been travelling to Paxos for many years and would offer our recommendations as follows:
Traditional and oldest family run restaurant on the island. The food is fantastic - Yannis and his father offer an amazing range of dishes, you will be invited tostep into the kitchen and salivate whilst Yannis talks you through the delights on offer, making a decision has never been so difficult!
Dishes tosuit all, fish, meat, and vegetarian and definitely notthe burger brigade! Well worth a visit.
The opportunity for a sophisticated waterfrontmeal. We usually book in at Akis for a romantic meal, the food matches any Michelin restaurant and the music is good, well worth a visit, good for lunch too.
Great for lunches or evening meals and especially for people watching - located right at the harbour entrance you can while away the hours watching the water traffic comings and goings. Alekosprovides an extremely friendly service and puts on a good show of Greek dancing - but be prepared to join in! Well worth a visit.
This is the restaurant where if seated outside and the bus comes past you really do need to move your chair. Again, as with most places on the island the food is excellant, traditional with a twist.
Yannis and his English wife Louise run this vibrant bar and stay open late into the night - very much a locals spot with impromtu Greek dancing as well as an organised night once a week. A good spot to stop for a long cool drink after returning from a day on your hire boat.
